This was a delightfully charming story. The wisdom and wit that are woven into this story make it special. This is the second book by this author that I have read although I own all but one of her books. I love her knack for writing a genuine “feel good” story. There were so many points in the book where Louise’s schemes and the situations she found herself in made me laugh out loud. I did not connect with her immediately, but eventually warmed to her. Her sense of community and loyalty are what won me over. I loved watching her transformation.
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to read a good book. I will definitely be moving Bette Lee Crosby’s other books up on my to read list.
